Inner-Tite Corp., located in Holden, Massachusetts, has been manufacturing products for the utility industry since 1932. World events hit the utility industry hard in 2020, freeing up time and resources. Inner-Tite Corp. used this as an opportunity to embark on a passion project that has been brewing for over a decade.

When Inner-Tite decided to go into production on the Sherman Cooker, the main goal was this: to engineer and manufacture the highest quality, most user friendly, longest lasting fire pit cooker on the market that would provide years of enjoyment for our fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

Right from the start the OSC team knew the cooking grate had to be cast iron due to its durability, lifespan, heat retention and thermal density. The original plan was for only the cooking grate to be made out of cast iron and the fire pit would be made out of steel. That plan quickly changed after a grueling design process where we realized that stamped steel would never allow us to accomplish our goal. Stamped steel cannot compete with cast iron when it comes to handling heat or standing the test of time. There was no doubt about it, the Sherman Cooker Fire Pit had to be manufactured from solid cast iron.
